October 10th, 2015: We are invited for lunch at locals. Liliana is going to get her camera out of our car shortly before eating.
When she is opening the door to the garden, the watchdog sees her and darts immediately to her and bites her into the left leg.
As on December 14th, 2009, in Tonga a lot of blood is flowing and there is a huge uproar how did this happen? Besides
of three more "tamely" dogs there is a creature "trained to attack", which guards the big property. They have been released
from there day cages to do their "business". Unfortunately neither the host didn't inform us about letting out the dogs nor
Liliana didn't mention anything about her intention to go to the vehicle. That's the way accidents happen! Result: Immediately
to the nearby Karen Hospital where the wounds have been cleaned, a tetanus injection and the necessary antibiotics were
given. Liliana is still treating today the biggest bite injury with antibiotic cream, but it seems to heal. We informed also with
pictures our "general practitioner" in Kuala Lumpur, who gave us greenlight on October 19th, for our onward journey
towards Ethiopia. Hence our 31st travel jubilee on October 16th, 2015, felt through like one year ago the 30th anniversary
of being "on the road" in Angola due to an axle fracture.

On October 21st, we kicked off and said good bye to Nairobi. Initially we proceeded on the "Trans East-African Highway"
pretty good. One day later we left definitively the southern hemisphere in Nanyuki while crossing the equator for the 24th
time by road. We roamed since July 1st, 2014, in this part of the earth. On the more than 300 miles [500km] long stretch
north of Isiolo there are still about 60 miles [100km] of road construction sites that can nerve quite a lot. Once this part is
definitively finished it will take for sure some more years there will be a huge relieve for the traffic between Kenya and
Ethiopia (if there is done some maintenance what might be questionable).

Next "fixpoint" was the border crossing in Moyale: Firstly the Ethiopian Customs doesn't work on a Sunday, thus the Carnet
could get stamped in only on Monday, although it's possible to enter the country on Sunday. Secondly it wasn't just our
516th border crossing within the last 31 years, but we entered also "our new" 183rd country Ethiopia (182nd was
Mozambique). Thirdly we changed for the 25th time from the left hand side to the right hand side of the road, whereby we
drove in 48 countries 134'565 miles [216'562km] on the left side it was more than the double on the right hand side:
309'859 miles [498'670km] in 134 countries.

After the first night in Ethiopia in Moyale, early morning of October 27th, we discovered unexpectedly in Emil's pillow the
bullet from the robbery in Nkhotakota/Malawi on July 31st, 2015. Would this projectile not only have grazed Emil but hit
somewhere unimaginable.....! The South of Ethiopia is still wild and not so densely populated. We reached quickly
Yabello, a kind of "tourist pivot". Thus we have seen quite a few short time tourists in tourist vehicles, who are exploring
everything feasible in the region. Upon their information we turn left towards Konso in the West because the paved Trans
African Highway, which is leading directly northwards is said to be full of potholes for about 125 miles [200km]. However
the 60 miles [100km] stretch that we have chosen was also pretty rough and tough. About 20 miles [30km] consist of
construction sites and the rest of a very rough worn and washed out gravel road. But somewhen tarmac restarts and with it
also the density of the population: From Konso onwards mostly people, animals (cows, goats, sheep, donkeys) and carts
are populating the road, as well as a very bad add-on: Children screaming and yelling for money and sweets while they are
throwing stones at the cars partly in fairly big groups (dozens) from around 5 to 18 years of age. They are waiting on
places for white tourists (doesn't matter whether driving in an own car or in a local vehicle with a driver), where the vehicle's
speed has to be reduced due to obstacles. Woe to the one who experiences at such a place a breakdown!

Ethiopia/Moyale: The 183th country is entered

We are now agog whether the "children situation" towards the North and East is developing more positively. If not we are
shortening our journey through the beautiful and usually predominantly friendly country. Any further inconveniences can be
overcome without problems. But getting stones flung at the head (Emil underwent this experience already), every mile is
becoming like running respectively driving the gauntlet, despite of possibly broken windows and other damages.
